Contact us when you’re ready

If your plans have been affected, we’ll keep your ticket open for you to book whenever you’re ready. You don’t have to contact us straight away to change your flight.

Depending on the fare you’ve booked, you may incur a fee to cancel or change your flight. Read our Modification guide to understand more. All refunds will be subject to the conditions of your ticket.

Need to change your flight?

If your travel plans have changed and you’re due to fly before 30 June 2021, you can simply move your flight to a later date for free.

If you booked directly with Etihad, you can cancel your trip and save it for later with Etihad Credit. We’ll reward you with up to US $400 and up to 5,000 Etihad Guest Miles, and you can travel any time before 31 October 2021.

Or you can simply rebook your trip at a time that suits you in the future – you can even pick a new destination anywhere on our network.

If you booked with a travel agent, please get in touch with them to change your flight.

Etihad Credit

Cancel your flight and use the value towards your next break. We’ll reward you with up to US $400 and up to 5,000 Etihad Guest Miles. We’ll add your credit to a Travel Bank account to pay for flights or extras at any time within two years.

Rebook before 30 June 2021

Rebook your trip for a later date and travel to any destination on our network before 31 October 2021. Book before 30 June 2021. It’s free to change your trip and we’ll remove the fare difference if you travel within the same zone before 30 June 2021.

Keep your ticket open

If your flight has been cancelled, you can simply keep your ticket open until you’re ready to travel again. You don’t need to call us or do anything until you’re ready to rebook. We’ll keep your ticket open until 31 October 2021, and if you haven’t used your open ticket within 12 months of your first cancelled flight, you will be entitled to a refund. To request a refund, please call us.

Request a refund

You are entitled to a refund if:

  • Any Etihad Airways flight on your ticket has been cancelled and you purchased your ticket directly with Etihad Airways or a travel agency in Australia, Canada or the USA, or your ticket originates in the European Union (including Switzerland and the UK).
  • Your ticket has an original travel date on or after 1 October 2020 and a flight on your booking has been cancelled.
  • You have received a positive COVID-19 PCR test result (you must present your test result in line with country regulations). You can request a refund between 96 and 24 hours before your flight departure time. 
  • Travel is restricted by government regulations and you are unable to travel. You can request a refund a maximum of 14 days before your flight departur
